Are today's women respected all over the world? The women seem to use any way want to get ahead. They'll show body parts, be submissive, or do anything to gain recognition. If you watch any television show, especially those on MTV, BET, VH1, or any network that broadcasts music videos and also on roads, shopping malls, restaurants etc, women are everywhere. You will see women with their bodies exposed, dancing around smoking, drinking, and parting like rock stars. You could catch women catering to men or women even playing ditsy roles on commercials or movies. I don't believe that those women understand how bad it looks to be up on a stage in a music video with their boobs out or their bottoms somewhat showing. Take for instance Jessica Simpson. She's anotable and very intelligent young lady but she portrays herself as a ditz because that's how she makes her living. She's beautiful, sexy, and has billions of talents, but she doesn't let on that's she's actually really smart. In today's society women are depicted as nothing more then sexual beings. If you look around a campus or sit and talk with a male he'll openly admit that women are nothing more than sexual objects. With a mind frame and beliefs such as that, women aren't going to move up in any cooperate world or the world period. Even women of the age (15-25) believe that sex is important and will willingly give in to a man sexually if she feels that it'd keep him around in any way. I have friends who openly admit into falling into temptation with a man who they honestly know doesn't want them in any way other than for sexual experiences. They say that it just happened or he's not like you think. They feel their "in love" but settles for the one night stands because, "that's just the way things go." Yeah right! My first week attending a club, I saw how girls would prance around with short skirts, tight shirts, and/or little to nothing on. The next week I witnessed how girls would throw themselves to boys. Even if a male would call her out her name she'd completely pay no attention to the matter. She'd continue to prance around and excuse all the rude and condescending remarks.
Men don't treat us with the respect we deserve sometimes, maybe because of all the views of the world. Or maybe because of they sense the weakness in females today. Women don't assert themselves at all. If a guy trashes them it's just fine because they're too scared to voice their opinions or say how they feel.Being a female, I don't fault women for using what they have to get ahead. I fault women for not using their brains enough to do the same. Instead of showcasing your boobs, show what brains you have. If you're a beautiful woman use your beauty and not your body, and understand the difference between the two. I don't think society can see the talents we have, or what we can add to the world when all they look at is what we put on display. Think about Halle Berry. She only plays sexy and some action roles, but as society sees it, never smart roles. See that's the catch 22 in every aspect. A woman can't be smart and beautiful, or sexy and smart. A woman can only be what society makes her out to be and that should not be tolerated by men or women. Instead of giving in to how society views her, Berry uses her brains to prove society wrong. By playing in movies like "Introducing Dorothy Dandridge" or "Losing Isaiah," Berry showed her acting talents and not just what her body looks like in a bikini. Women are certainly frowned upon, but if we change the way people see us we can prove that not only are we sexual beings, we're also capable of changing the world with our wits and brains. Every woman might not feel the same way I do, but every woman understands where I'm coming from. We've all been put in categories as sexual beings, but we can only change that if we want to.
